The Moscow Museum of Design is the only museum in Russia dedicated to design. The museum collects, studies and preserves the legacy of Russian design, familiarizes viewers with the best designs and main currents of international design, and presents Russian design abroad. The museum’s collection contains samples of domestic and foreign design from the vanguard to the present day. These are the best works of design artists, the most significant development of Soviet designers and design associations, the work of modern Russian designers, and the religious objects of world design. The museum creates a series of documentary films on design: «History of Russian Design», «Dutch — Design Territory», «Open Utopia», «Sweden». Design for Society, British Design. Tradition and innovation.»
Significantly, the museum has been in existence since 2012, but it has never had souvenir products. Together with the director of the museum, Alexandra Sankova, a decision was made to correct it.
