I started filming this project when I came to America. Once upon a time at a train station in Chicago, I was absolutely impressed by the painting I saw. In a dark tunnel, glowing passenger train windows. And I started to go there for a few months on the hunt. The project is a simple one, and I like it that way. There’s a shift in emphasis on the character character character. People who happened to be in front of my lens and happened to be with each other. The amazing calm state of a man who has only been given to himself on his way home from work, between the worlds. That’s the kind of face I’ve been looking for by filming this project. No event, no emotion, no moment. It’s not about the decisive moment, it’s about the human being out of time and space.
