A book on peripetia in Joseph Brodsky’s biography and Odyssey’s mythological journey from Homer’s poem. The idea is to show how the experience of any immigrant compares to the epic myth and Greek heroes whose stories were carved in stone. The publication is addressed to all who are interested in the poetry of Brodsky, the antiquity tradition, and the eternal questions of human existence: where is the home, what is the return, and what is Ithaca for every individual emigrant.

Entrance into the book
In parallel to the chapters on the life of Brodsky, synonyms from «Odyssey» are embedded in the fabric of the text. The similarity between these stories is in the image of a foreign hero who, despite all the difficulties and losses, retains domestic strength and creativity.
