Oxygen (Kislorod), Ivan Vyrypaev’s theatrical production, formed the basis of the book. The play is difficult to understand due to the fast speech of the actors, the specifics of pronunciation, and the absence of pauses between verses, refrains, and compositions. The book conveys a sense of discomfort while reading.

The design feature of the book is Japanese folding.
The compositions are built around the metaphor of exhaling. Throughout the chapter, the font size gradually increases, the leading decreases, which symbolizes the lack of oxygen and the semantic climax by the end of the chapter.
