It is difficult to overstate the fragility of human destiny: any action can sometimes change the course of events. The same is true of Osip Emiljevic Mandelstam, the famous poet of the Silver Age, about whom, in a slightly different way, we may not have known at all.

The first half of Longrid talks about Osip Mandelstam’s childhood, his becoming a poet, and his first meeting with his future wife, Hope Hazina.

The second half of Longrid is devoted to the repression that the poet faced in the 1930s. The scenes overlap with the previous section, which reinforces the tragedy of what happened.
