Magnetic clothing
The magnet is a symbol of the capitalist apropriation of the culture of national minorities. By increasing the magnet to human proportions, the author shows the process of simplifying the culture of national minorities to the plaque that exists in the the gift shop frame. Using souvenir magnets, author in his collection replicates established meanings, stereotypes about non-white people. The magnet is like a metaphor of frozen and « primitive» images of « exotic& raquao; peoples for cultural metropolises. Clothes of the diploma collection are based on the Magnetic Technology.
