«Inside the Game» is a project dedicated to Abu Dhabi, more precisely, the feeling of artificiality and unreality that surrounds you as soon as you get off the plane. It’s a city looking to the future, bypassing the past. All the buildings here seem to be drawn in a graphic editor and transferred to reality in an unchanged state. Because of this, it seems that you are walking through a well-drawn computer game.

In the United Arab Emirates it is forbidden to photograph passers-by on the streets. Therefore, all the people in my photographs are fake, eight-bit. Women are in black abayas, men are in white konduras, all of them are maximally nominal characters of the game who pass by without interacting with the player in any way.

The project is implemented as a photo book, which is designed in such a way that pop-up windows with poetic text appear on top of the photos from time to time. As in real virtual reality, only after reading the text, you can continue the game.
