COMMU — concrete coffe table
The task of this module was to create a furniture object in the style of a Russian industrial design studio. The studio «Garage Factory» was chosen. The main material the studio works with is concrete.
When analyzing the style of the studio, it became noticeable that it fits well with the concept of «wabi-sabi» interiors. The similarity lies in the fact that the objects are created from organic material, have soft colors, their shape is simple, and concrete, with its texture, gives the object incompleteness and the beauty of flaws.
We must interest creative people, designers, who will offer the product to the end user. This can be done via:
- unusual shape
- metaphor in the object
- material texture
The metaphor is «book», an openness, a willingness to share a story. We want to broadcast a similar idea through our object. This idea is suitable for cafe or business owners, and for those who decorate their home.
In the recess between the two part of table, you can put a phone, business cards, wire from a computer, etc.
The name «Commu» is an abbreviation from the word «communication», which reflects the main task of the object — to gather around itself people who will openly communicate with each other.
